South Carolina went down to Georgia, and came back with a 20-17 overtime win over the No. 3 Bulldogs. The unranked Gamecocks were heavy underdogs in the game played at Sanford Stadium in Athens Ga.
"I'm happy for our fans," said USC Head Coach Will Muschamp. "It was a great job by our guys."
The game featured three USC interceptions by Israel Mukuamu. One was returned for a touchdown. Brian Edwards caught a touchdown pass, too, from USC QB Ryan Hillinski.
In the end the Gamecocks Parker White made a field goal in the second overtime. Georgia missed a 42-yard attempt.
Hillinski was injured in the third quarter with USC leading 17-10. Dakereon Joyner came in to replace Hillinski. The severity of Hillinski's injury has not been announced. But Muschamp said he does not think it's "anything serious."
It's the biggest win of Muschamp's career at South Carolina. He credited the leadership of his players for hanging in to get the win.
