South Carolina defeated Vanderbilt 24-7, Saturday.

The Gamecocks, playing at home, got off to a slow start and trailed the Commodores, 7-0, early in the game. But USC rallied and took a 14-7 lead just before halftime.

The Gamecocks defense held in the second half and the offense was able to put the game away. USC is 4-5, and 3-4 in the SEC, with the win. Vandy falls to 2-6 with the loss and 1-4 in the SEC.

South Carolina next plays Appalachian State at Williams-Brice Stadium, at 7 p.m., Saturday (Nov. 9.) That game will be broadcast on ESPN2.
