Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the individuals who died due to a motor vehicle collision that occurred in the 3400 block of Charleston Highway shortly before noon Monday.

According to Fisher, Mr. Timothy Roberts, 44, of Swansea, and Ms. Nicole Beran, 39, of Lexington, were in a stolen vehicle being pursued by the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department. The vehicle collided with a commercial delivery vehicle as it made a left turn.

Roberts was pronounced dead at the scene due to his injuries, and Beran was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. Neither were wearing a seatbelt when the collision occurred, according to the coroner. The driver of the commercial delivery vehicle was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The collision is being investigated by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
