Representatives from Lexington District One, Lexington District Two, Lexington District Four, Richland District One, Richland District Two, Ben Lippen School, Hammond School and Northside Christian Academy announced Thursday morning that students will be dismissed early, due to inclement weather.

Dismissal times-

Lexington Four:

Early Childhood Center - 10:30 AM

Sandhills Primary/Elementary - 10:45 AM

Francis Mack Intermediate - 12:00 PM

Sandhills Middle School - 11:30 AM

Swansea High Freshman Academy - 11:45 AM

Swansea High - 12:00 PM

Lexington One:

All elementary schools - 11:15 a.m.

Middle and high schools - 12:15 p.m.

Lexington District Two:

All elementary schools - 11 a.m.

All middle and high schools - noon

Note: The Brookland-Cayce High School Educational Foundation Gala scheduled for tonight at Seawells has been postponed until a later date.

Richland District One:

All elementary schools - noon

All middle schools - 1 p.m.

All high schools - 11 a.m.

District employees also will be dismissed early today. Employees have been notified of their dismissal times.

Richland District Two:

All elementary schools - 1:15 p.m.

All middle schools - 12:30 p.m.

All high schools - 2 p.m.


Lower school - 12:20 p.m.

Upper school - 12:30 p.m.

Early education center - 12:45 p.m.

Ben Lippen:

Dismissing at 2 p.m.

Thursday night's open house has been postponed.

No lower-school aftercare.

Hammond School:

Lower and middle schools - 12:45 p.m.

Upper school - 1:05 p.m.

All after-school activities have also been canceled for these districts and schools, plus Lexington-Richland Five. Additional closure information will be updated if/when announced.

The latest National Weather Service forecast includes high winds, heavy rains and possible flooding, which can produce unsafe travel conditions, especially for school buses. According to guidelines from the SC Department of Education, buses should not operate when sustained winds are at 30 mph or greater, or in frequent gusts exceeding 40 mph.
