Crash site 

Traffic was blocked on I-20, near Exit 71, Thursday afternoon, according to a  South Carolina Department of Transportation report.

The interstate was blocked for more than an hour after a two-vehicle crash that resulted in lots of smoke over the interstate.

The collision happened near the U.S. 21 Exit for North Main Street in Columbia.Columbia Fire Department image

Saw the line mess from other lane - WOW. But why couldn't one lane be cleared by dragging the cars to one side 8 feet? Even one at a time? Saw the Firetruck parked 90 degrees blocking all lanes - was it involved too? Why 90 degrees?
