Scarecrows in the Garden @ Robert Mills House & Gardens
Oct 2 @ 10:00 am – Oct 31 @ 4:00 pm

Scarecrows will take over the gardens of the Robert Mills House! This free exhibit will feature handcrafted scarecrows made by local families, business, organizations and classrooms. On a stroll through the gardens this fall, you’ll see dozens of ghoulish, historic and colorful scarecrows.

We are now accepting scarecrow registrations to place a scarecrow on the grounds. In addition to being available for public viewing during the month of October, hundreds of families will see the scarecrows at Trunk or Treat on Oct. 26. This exhibit runs throughout the month of October. Mark your calendars and take a stroll through the garden before it’s too late!

All activities are free and included with State Fair Admission. Daily activities include McKissick’s exhibition, “Pottery in South Carolina,” a Pottery Boneyard provided by the Newberry Arts Center and SC Clay Conference, and our oral history project, “Share Your Fair Story”. Stop by and share your favorite memory of your family’s quilts, canned or baked goods, or other State Fair traditions as we prepare to celebrate the SC State Fair’s 150th anniversary in 2019.
