Palmetto Falls Water Park

Anyone looking to beat the heat can enjoy a cool dip in the pool by visiting one of the following public pools and water parks in Richland County.

Fort Jackson

Palmetto Falls Water Park - 6511 Strom Thurmond Blvd., Building 6511

Palmetto Falls Water Park features a family pool, two water slides, splashdown pool, kiddy pool, lazy river and snack bar. Fort Jackson also has two pools, including Legion Pool and Knight Indoor Pool. Visit jackson.armymwr.com to view season hours and pricing.

Pools operated by Richland County

Public pools in Richland County are officially open open with free pool memberships. Visit richlandcountyrecreation.com for more information.

St. Andrews Park Pool (920 Beatty Rd.) and Trenholm Park Pool (3900 Covenant Rd.) - Pools are open Tuesday through Saturday from 1 to 6 p.m., beginning June 7.

Eastover Pool (1301 Main St.) and Hopkins Park Pool (150 Hopkins Park Rd.) - Both pools are open Wednesday through Saturday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., beginning June 7.

Pools operated by City of Columbia

City of Columbia splash pads and pools are free and open to the public. The swimming season started May 27 and ends Labor Day on Sept. 4. Visit parksandrec.columbiasc.gov to find out more about pool ticket information, policies and rules.

Maxcy Gregg Pool - 1655 Park Circle

Regular hours for the swimming season are Monday through Thursday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sundays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., and closed for maintenance on Fridays. The pool is also open for swimming on Independence Day and Labor Day.

Greenview Pool - 6700 David Street

Regular hours for the swimming season are Tuesday through Friday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sundays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m and closed for maintenance on Mondays. Greenview Pool is also open for swimming on Independence Day and Labor Day.

Spray pools

Lorick Park (1600 Lorick Ave.) and Pinehurst Park (2300 Pinehurst Rd.) have free public spray pools which will be open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m.. The spray pools are closed on Sundays.

The following spray pools are open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., 4 to 6 p.m., and closed on Saturdays and Sundays: Edisto Discovery Park (1914 Wiley St.), Emily Douglas Park (2500 Wheat St.), Heathwood Park (80 Abelia Rd.), Melrose Park (1500 Fairview Rd.), Sims Park (3500 Duncan St.) and Anna’s Park (1315 Liberty Hill Ave.).

Spray pools at Mays Park (4100 Trenholm Rd.) and Pacific Park (200 Wayne St.) will be available upon request.

Drew Park splash pad (2101 Walker Solomon Way) will be open Monday through Saturday from 12 to 8 p.m., and is closed on Sundays. The spray pad at Hyatt Park (950 Jackson Ave.) and Roy Lynch Park (900 Abbeville St.) is user-operated and is available during the park’s operating hours from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
