The City of Cayce is working to implement an Arts District on State Street, the original heart of Cayce. Public art is essential to this vision and the City is commissioning artists to design and paint two murals that will be visible to the public as they are walking and driving along State Street.

The City is requesting proposals from artists to design and paint two murals on private property on State Street. Proposals are due Monday, Sept. 9, at noon.

The selected artists will be notified by Friday, Sept. 20. It is the first large scale mural project that the City is leading, and will help set the tone for future public art projects. We are seeking artists with a strong point of view and the ability to create complex, engaging designs.

The mural locations are:
The following sites have been confirmed to receive murals.
1. 1804 State Street (the wall is north facing)
2. 2005 State Street (the wall is south facing)

The exact size of the mural will be determined in collaboration with City of Cayce staff, the property owner and the artist.
