FOLKFabulous at the SC State Fair 2018
FOLKFabulous@theFair returns for its second year at the South Carolina State Fair with a calendar chockfull of musical performances, artist demonstrations, and hands-on activities. This year’s activities celebrate South Carolina’s vibrant pottery traditions, drawing on two exhibitions on display at McKissick Museum: “Swag & Tassel: The Innovative Stoneware of Thomas Chandler” and “Place It/Face It: Pottery by Eugene.” FOLKFabulous@theFair is located in the Rosewoods Building, adjacent to the Home Arts area. All activities are free and included with State Fair Admission. Daily activities include McKissick’s exhibition, “Pottery in South Carolina,” a Pottery Boneyard provided by the Newberry Arts Center and SC Clay Conference, and our oral history project, “Share Your Fair Story”. Stop by and share your favorite memory of your family’s quilts, canned or baked goods, or other State Fair traditions as we prepare to celebrate the SC State Fair’s 150th anniversary in 2019. Be sure to check our Facebook or Website for the daily schedule.
