Spring is in the air and for many local residents, that means it's time for planting.

The annual Midlands Plant & Flower Sale will be returning to the South Carolina State Farmers Market April 8 through 11.

Guests will be able to shop for plants, garden essentials, Certified South Carolina produce, springtime decor and more. Food vendors will be on-site in addition to the Market Restaurant which will be open for business.

The sale will take place from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday through Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. The SC State Farmers Market is located at 3483 Charleston Hwy., West Columbia.

Admission and parking are free. Wagons will be available for rent, but guests are encouraged to bring their own due to a limited quantity.

All visitors and vendors are encouraged to wear masks. Free masks will be available with sanitizing stations set up around the market property. Additional information can be found at agriculture.sc.gov/state-farmers-markets.
