The official start of fall is just a few days away, and organizers are planning for the annual Fall Plant and Flower Festival at the South Carolina State Farmers Market.

The three day event will be held Oct. 8 through 10, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Visitors will have the opportunity to shop for a variety of home, yard and garden decor along with crafts, traditional fall plants, in-season Certified SC Grown produce, and more.

According to SC Department of Agriculture officials, Master Gardeners will be available to answer questions regarding fall planting. Visitors can also grab a bite to eat from Seafood Express, a vendor selling freshly-cooked seafood from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. throughout the weekend.

Admission and parking are free. Wagons will be available on a first come, first serve basis. Guests are encouraged to bring their own due to a limited quantity.

The SC State Farmers Market is located at 3483 Charleston Hwy., West Columbia. Additional information can be found at
