Officers from Lexington Police Department will be at the Town of Lexington's Market at Icehouse Saturday for Coffee with a Cop and child passenger seat checks.

A Lexington police tent will be set up in the Icehouse Pavilion and The Haven Coffee House will serve complimentary cups of their house blend coffee.

“One of the toughest realities for our officers during the pandemic was the inability to continue many of our community outreach programs and we’re excited to be getting back into it with our events at the Market at Icehouse this spring and summer," Lexington Police Chief Terrence Green said. “Stop by for a cup of coffee and chat with our officers and be sure that your child’s car seat is checked while you’re there. Those ten minutes learning how your child’s car seat should be secured in your vehicle could save their life during a collision."

Child passenger seat technicians will be set up in the parking lot ready to check seats for families who stop by. Parking spaces will be coned off at the Icehouse Amphitheater parking lot to accommodate those interested in a seat check.

Coffee with a Cop and seat check events will be held from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on the following dates at the Market at Icehouse:

  • May 22
  • June 19
  • July 17
  • August 21
  • September 25
