Easter egg hunts aren't just for kids..... anymore.

Second Wave Coffee and More in Lexington will soon be hosting its first adults-only egg hunt with prizes inside the eggs not exactly suitable for children.

The "Toasted & Tipsy Adult Egg Hunt" will be held outdoors at Second Wave Thursday, April 1. According to general manager Amie Douglass, prizes will include lottery tickets, gift cards to Second Wave, and mini bottles of wine and liquor. "Some will have traditional candy, but a lot will have adult items in them," she said.

Live music by Chris Reed will begin at 7 p.m. with drink specials available, and the egg hunt will commence at 7:30. "We'll go over the terrain and location of where the eggs are hidden," said Douglass. She said the eggs will be placed across both the upper and lower levels outside around fire pits and picnic tables.

Some eggs will be visible while others will be well-hidden, according to Douglass. "Just because it will be an adult event, we'll make it a little more challenging. But there will be some freebies around," she said.

The event is for adults 21 and up. IDs will be checked at the door. Tickets are $15 and will include one "pink-mosa" or draft beer. Guests will also be provided with a customized tote for egg collecting. Douglass suggests pre-purchasing tickets, but they will also be available on the night of the egg hunt.

"I'm super pumped and I cannot wait to see how the turnout is. I think it's going to be really fun," said Douglass. In addition to coffee, Second Wave has now branched out to offer beer, wine, and a limited food menu, which will be available during the event.

Additional information can be found on the Facebook event page.
