Swansea High School was the site Saturday morning for Palmetto State residents to receive covid-19 vaccinations shots.

Sponsored by Lexington Medical Center, the Covid Vaccine Clinic offered an opportunity for those eligible in in SC DHEC's Phases 1A or 1B to receive the 1st of 2 dosages of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine to help combat the disease.

Following the shot, a recipient is required to sit 15 minutes before leaving in case of side effects.

The 2nd shot will be administered April 17 at Swansea High School from 8 am to 3 pm. A list of those currently eligible right now is available online.

As of 8:30 a.m. Saturday, an estimated 231 people had signed up for appointments with 410 slots still open.
