There was a vehicle and semi-truck collision at the 57 mile marker of I-20 eastbound, Saturday. Some lanes were closed for a while.

The semi overturned, spilling several hundred gallons of bleach from its tanker. LCFS HAZMAT crews secured the scene, with traffic assistance from law enforcement, and began working to clean up the spill. SCDHEC was called in to finish the clean up.

No severe injuries were reported. There is no threat to the general public from the spill. However, a strong odor of cleaning products will last in the area.

The Lexington County Fire Services, Lexington County EMS, Lexington Police, and the S.C. Highway Patrol responded. Lexington County photo.
