Richland County deputies announced the arrest of two men Friday morning in connection with a shooting that led to multiple injuries and one death at 7810 Two Notch Road - the business of Capital City Cycles.
The shooting occurred around 4 p.m. Thursday. Deputies responded to multiple reports of shots fired and found five people who had been shot. One man was deceased at the scene and the other four men were transported to local hospitals, according to deputies.
Kristopher Wheat, 36, was charged with obstruction of justice in the case and arrested upon release from the hospital. James Hill, 58, was charged with assault by mob in the first degree. It is believed that an argument between individuals escalated and led to a shoot-out at the business. The investigation remains ongoing and more charges may follow, deputies said.
Two men remain in the hospital.
Wheat and Hill were arrested late Thursday. They were transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
