In celebration of the South Carolina State Museum’s (SCSM) Apollo 50: Journey to the Moon exhibit, the museum is offering free general admission to children ages 12 and under during Space Week, from Jul. 18 through Jul. 26.

The exhibit will feature South Carolina astronauts, meteorites and special presentations of planetarium and 4-D theater shows. Museum members are encouraged to bring a friend during Space Week. Guests of members will receive member benefits during their visit.

Additional events during SCSM’s Space Week include an astronomy-themed virtual trivia night, a planetarium show set to music of Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin and more, and Astronomy Day. During Astronomy Day, SCSM will be partnering with local organizations to increase awareness and appreciation for astronomy with special demonstrations, exhibits and shows.

SCSM is continuing to follow COVID-19 safety precautions. All guests over the age of ten are required to wear a face covering during their visit.
