It was announced Monday that applications are now being accepted for the South Carolina State Fair's Ride of your Life Scholarship Program.
There will be 50 $6,000 scholarships awarded to high school seniors across the state, and it will be paid out at $1,500 a year for four years. Students pursuing a two-year degree will receive $1,500 over the two-year period.

The scholarships are awarded based on academic and extracurricular achievement, communication skills, need and completeness of the application. All applications must be completed online at SCStateFair.org by March 15. The recipients will be notified in early May.
The "Ride of Your Life" Scholarship Program awards $300,000 in scholarships each year.
“Education is the fair’s mission, and we created this program to support young adults with big dreams for the future,” State Fair general manager, Nancy Smith said. “When patrons visit our annual fair to enjoy hand-crafted exhibits, novel foods, and thrilling rides, they’re supporting our mission to educate and empower South Carolina’s youth.”
