It's almost time for families and friends to hop in the car and ride through a festive wonderland of colorful light displays and animated scenes during the Holiday Lights on the River at Saluda Shoals Park.

More than one million sparkling lights transform the park for the holiday season down a 2.5 mile route. Hundreds of displays from dancing trees to a larger-than-life peacock will be shining brightly for guests to enjoy.

According to Irmo Chapin Recreation Commission representatives, many traditional favorites will return to this year's light show including the Dazzling Dancing Forest - a grove of dancing trees synchronized to music, the 12 Days of Christmas, Lake Murray Country and the patriotic area.

Due to COVID-19, there will be no additional activities at Holiday Lights this year with the exception of the laser light show and walking trail to the wetland.

The event will begin Nov. 24 and continue through Dec. 31 every night from 6 to 10 p.m. Admission is $20 per car, $40 per 12+ passenger van, trucks with trailers and limos, and $60 per bus.

Holiday Lights on the River is put on by the Irmo Chapin Recreation Commission in partnership with Lexington Medical Center, and other community partners. Additional information can be found at Saluda Shoals is located at 5605 Bush River Rd., Columbia.
