The library has been about much more than just books for many years now, and those services have been missed in the year of COVID-19. Good news for patrons, though: Richland County’s progress continues with the return of more options.

Starting Monday, the library is expanding its hours for pickup windows and in-person phone customer service. Reserved library items will be available at the windows from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday at the Ballentine, Northeast, Sandhills and St. Andrews locations.

Patrons will also be able to speak with library staff by phone via any library branch phone number from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

Outdoor seating including free wifi will be available at the Ballentine, Blythewood, Northeast, Southeast, St. Andrews and Wheatley locations. Masks and social distancing are required.

The Ballentine, Northeast, Sandhills and St. Andrews will also offer free printing services. Customers can upload documents online and pick up printed copies at the windows at those locations.

All library buildings remain closed to the public because of the pandemic. More information on all services is available at
