Richland Library is expanding its options for residents to access books, materials, WiFi, computers and printing while locations are closed during the pandemic.
Curbside pickup of reserved items is now available from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday at the Blythewood, Cooper, Eastover, Edgewood, Lower Richland, Main, North Main, Southeast and Wheatley branches. Pick-up windows are open during those hours at the Ballentine, Northeast, Sandhills and St. Andrews branches. Book return drops also are now open at all locations.
Patrons needing free WiFi can access it in the parking lots of all locations except Sandhills, as well as in the outdoor seating areas at all locations.
In addition, remote document printing is available at all locations. Library cardholders can upload documents from any device and pick them up at the most convenient branch. Drive-through pickup is offered at Ballentine, Northeast, Sandhills and St. Andrews, and curbside pickup is available at Blythewood, Cooper, Eastover, Edgewood, Lower Richland, Main, North Main, Southeast and Wheatley. To ensure privacy, documents aren’t printed until the requester arrives, so there may be a short wait time. The first 10 pages printed are free.
Computer use will be available at the Main branch starting Oct. 26.
Library cards are free for Richland County residents and property owners, as well as teachers, military members, childcare providers and college students teaching or living in Richland County. Request a card online at richlandlibrary.com/librarycard or in person at any location, or call 803-799-9084 for more information.
