Richland County residents can bring recyclable materials to Columbia Place Mall Aug. 15. The drop-off will be held in a drive-thru format to ensure a safe, socially distanced event.

Items collected will include electronics, scrap metal and tires. Paper will also be accepted for shredding.

Richland County is asking the community to keep the following notes in mind:

• Electronics are limited to two per vehicle

• Tires are limited to eight per vehicle

• Four boxes of paper for shredding will be accepted per vehicle

• Commercial materials will not be accepted

• The recycling event is for Richland County residents only

Staff members will direct drivers to various drop-off stations and unload acceptable items from vehicles. Residents are asked to stay in their vehicles to maintain social distancing.

Registration is not required for the event however Richland County residents are encouraged to register via Facebook to help organizers accommodate traffic. The Columbia Place Mall is located at 7201 Two Notch Rd.
