Drivers on Decker Boulevard should expect lane closures and delays for two months while improvements are made to the roadway.
The resurfacing project on a mile-long stretch of Decker, from Brookfield Road to Percival Road northeast of Columbia, will begin Thursday.
Motorists will still be able to use the road while construction is underway, but lane closures will limit the number of open lanes, increasing travel time for drivers.
Crews with Richland County Transportation will patch portions of the four-lane road before resurfacing begins. New pavement markings will be added after the resurfacing is complete.
Construction is scheduled to last through the end of 2019.
