Lexington-Richland School District Five will hold its 2021 teacher recruitment event Feb. 6 to give jobseekers an opportunity to learn more about schools and services in the district. Jobseekers will also have the opportunity to talk one-on-one with administrators.
Due to COVID-19, the district will utilize a virtual platform to host the event. Candidates will have the opportunity to speak with District Five administrators through live video calls, chat live with current teachers in the district to gain insight into the district’s professional development opportunities and overall environment, as well as view informational videos about each school.
The job fair will take place from 8:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Candidates must register online prior to the event.
“School District Five is committed to attracting, hiring, and retaining the best possible quality candidates,” said School District Five chief human resources officer, Dr. Tamara Turner. “The teacher recruitment event offers a unique opportunity to bring together highly effective educators with school and district leaders looking to fill vacancies.”
Vacancies for the upcoming school year will vary and contracts may be issued the day of the teacher recruitment event. Candidates are encouraged to submit an application to the district prior to the event. Jobseekers attending can also upload a resume to the virtual platform prior to the event for interviewers to review.
District Five's office of human resources will also host two virtual meetings before the job fair Jan.14 and Feb. 3 at 4 p.m. Attendees are asked to pre-register.
