SC Works Midlands, SC Department of Employment and Workforce along with the SC Department of Social Services are inviting local organizations to take part in the second Midlands Job Fair Drive-Thru. The event will be hosted by Harvest Hope Food Bank Wednesday, March 24.

Harvest Hope is the largest food bank in South Carolina, providing more than 50,000 meals each week to residents in need throughout the state. A recent polling of Midlands families receiving assistance from Harvest Hope revealed that more than 40% have been in need of employment during the past year.

Due to COVID precautions, a traditional job fair will not be possible. Instead, interested parties will be able to remain in their vehicles while driving through the event. This will be the second drive-thru job fair the organization has held, after the first was a success last August. According to Department of Social Services officials, there were more than 50 employers and 500 job seekers who participated.

The event will be held at Harvest Hope (2220 Shop Rd., Columbia), from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Job seekers driving through will be given packets of information containing employment opportunities.

Interested employers are not requested to attend in-person. Instead, employers who would like to assist should email with the following information:

  • List of current openings with qualifications needed
  • Job descriptions for each opening
  • Information on how to apply

The email may also be used for any questions or comments.
