Midlands residents looking for sales on summer clothes, decor and more might want to check out the stores in Five Points this weekend.

The Five Points' Annual Summer Sidewalk Sale will be a four-day event beginning Friday, Aug. 13 and continuing through Monday. The event features multiple retailers and restaurants.

Five Points Association manager Katy Renfroe said they chose this weekend for the sale to coincide with the University of South Carolina's student Move-In-Weekend.

"The Five Points Association wants to show students and families that there is so much more to our village than just the nightlife scene. We have so many unique boutiques and amazing restaurants for students to visit throughout the school year that are affordable for their budget," she said.

Some restaurants will be offering special recipes specifically for the sale weekend. Association officials said guests might even see everyone's favorite Gamecock, Cocky, at Home Team BBQ Saturday. There will be frozen treats available for purchase, and live music throughout the village.

“Five Points’ Annual Summer Sidewalk Sale offers an opportunity to get some great pricing on end-of-summer fashions and décor from our merchants, so they can make room for the fall season offerings. With the weather in South Carolina, you’ll still have a couple months to get some good wear out of your purchases before it gets cooler in late October. Come to Five Points this weekend where you’ll always find things that you can’t get anywhere else,” said Renfroe.

Additional information can be found on the event Facebook page.
