Richland County deputies notified the public Sunday at 1:45 p.m. of the search that is continuing for a missing 19-year-old University of South Carolina student.

RCSD reported that the investigation has revealed that Samuel Laundon was walking home with several friends in the Olympia-Granby area Saturday when they got lost around 2:30 a.m. Deputies said Laundon jumped a fence in hopes of reaching his destination faster. When his friends called a ride-sharing service to take them home, Laundon declined to jump/climb back over.

Thus far, RCSD has used an aerial drone, and conducted a K-9 search on foot in hopes of locating Laundon. The department's helicopter is expected to conduct an aerial search shortly.

He was last seen in a green shirt, white shorts, blue jacket and black shoes. Anyone who may have seen Laundon is asked to call 911.
