Richland County Sheriff's Department released an update Thursday on the husband and wife who were found fatally shot in a Columbia senior living facility. The incident took place Tuesday.
According to RCSD, investigators determined that the incident was a murder-suicide.
Deputies were called to the Harmony Collection of Columbia (2232 Clemson Road) Tuesday around 2:30 p.m. after two people were found inside their apartment with gunshot wounds, according to RCSD. Both were pronounced deceased at the scene.
The investigation found that the 83-year-old man shot his 86-year-old wife before shooting himself, deputies said.
