Richland County Coroner Naida Rutherford released the name of the individuals who were involved in a homicide shooting at Harmony Collection of Columbia. The incident occurred Tuesday.
According to Rutherford, the victims are identified as David Sprague, 83, and Phyllis Sprague, 86, of Columbia. Officials from the coroner's office confirmed that the two were husband and wife.
Richland County deputies said the couple was found inside an apartment at the assisted living facility around 2:30 p.m. with gunshot wounds. They were both pronounced dead at the scene. According to RCSD, the investigation is ongoing but they do not believe there is a threat to the community.
"We are working with the Richland County Sheriff Department to fully investigate this matter," said Rutherford.
