Summer might be over, but it's never a bad time to go fishing.

Officials from the Capital City/Lake Murray Country Regional Tourism Board will be welcoming two fishing tournaments in October coming to Lake Murray.

The Carolinas Bass Challenge Classic, and the Major League Fishing's Phoenix Bass Fishing League Regional Championship will take place over the next two weekends.

MLF Phoenix Bass Fishing League will compete Oct. 14 and 15. The weigh-ins will be held at Dreher Island State Park. Additional information about the tournament can be found at majorleaguefishing.com/events/2021-10-14-lake-murray.

The Carolinas Bass Challenge Classic will be held Oct. 22 and 23. According to Capital City/Lake Murray Country officials, two hundred fishermen will be competing with the weigh-ins also being held at Dreher Island State Park. Additional information can be found on carolinasbasschallenge.com.

Additionally, MLF announced this week that the 2022 Phoenix Bass Fishing League will compete on Lake Murray again next spring in May.

"Our regional tourism office is excited to host these competitive tournaments. Lake Murray has become quite the national fishing spot and, as always, we look forward to hosting the anglers and their families. Stay tuned to LakeMurrayCountry.com for more REEL fishing announcements," said Miriam Atria, President/CEO.
