Chapin residents can get a head start on their holiday shopping Saturday at the fourth annual Holiday Market and Silent Auction, hosted by the CHS marching band.
There will be approximately 130 vendors positioned around the Chapin High gymnasium (300 Columbia Ave.) selling items ranging from candles and pottery to home decor and wood work.
According to Holiday Market coordinator BJ Strickland, there is no cost to attend the event, however, new or gently-used toy donations are encouraged. "We are taking up new toy donations for [Chapin] We Care, who provides Christmas for almost 500 needy children in the area," she said.
In addition to artisan crafts, there will also be a silent auction. Strickland said items up for auction include gift baskets from several local businesses, a free membership to Anytime Fitness, pieces of art, and one item from each vendor.
The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Food trucks will be on-site. More information can be found at the Holiday Market Facebook event page.
