Demands for meat and poultry have increased, and many meat production plants are struggling to keep up as employee shortages surge day to day.

Hiring officials for local poultry plant, House of Raeford Farms, are doing their best to prepare for holiday demand. The West Columbia-based company is currently hosting a 14-day online job fair for full-time production workers until Nov. 23.

"We are looking to hire roughly 150 applicants", said Patsy Elmore, Human Resources Manager. "We have our team in place to conduct daily interviews in the morning and new hire orientation in the afternoon to ensure new team members can potentially begin working the next day."

Although the job fair is being hosted online, applicants can apply in person on weekdays from 8 a.m. through 4 p.m. at 441 Sunset Blvd, West Columbia.
