Faye Marie Swetlik, age 6.

Byron Snellgrove of the Cayce Department of Public Safety along with Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher and Sgt. Evan Antley notified the public Thursday at 2 p.m. that the body of 6-year-old Faye Swetlik has been found.

“It is with extremely heavy hearts that we tell you the body of Faye Marie Swetlik has been found and identified by Coroner Margaret Fisher,” said Snellgrove. He informed the public that the body of a male has also been found in the Churchill Heights neighborhood in Cayce. There was no elaboration on any details of the male who was discovered. It is unclear if the second body found is related to Faye’s death.

At this time, no arrests have been made, and Snellgrove said they are considering Faye’s death a homicide. He also said at this time, they believe there is no danger to the community.

“We will continue to provide more information as it becomes available,” he said. Snellgrove, Fisher, nor Antley were accepting questions at the end of the press conference.

Faye had been missing since Monday afternoon.

More information will be added when available.
