Officials from Ben Lippen School announced Thursday that the school will be expanding with the addition of a new lower-school location in northeast Columbia. According to Ben Lippen's Headmaster Tony Fajardo, the northeast location will be in partnership with Sandhills Community Church.

The new school will begin classes for grades pre-K4 through second grade by the fall, with plans to include third grade by fall of 2022 and fourth grade by fall of 2023.

About 60 students will be accepted for the upcoming school year at the new campus with the intent of increasing to about 100 over the next three years. Fajardo said open enrollment will begin March 1.

Ben Lippen School currently offers lower, middle and high school classes on the campus of Columbia International University on Monticello Road, and lower school classes at its St. Andrews Road location in northwest Columbia.

Fajardo said they're excited for the new expansion and to continue the mission of Christian education across Columbia. "All three of our lower school campuses will continue to offer a rigorous academic program anchored in a foundation of solid biblical truth," he said. "Our purpose is to help students develop faith in Jesus Christ through academics, co-curricular activities, leadership development, and personal relationships. We will continue to accomplish these critical components through committed faculty and staff who love Christ, love students, and love to teach a biblically-permeated curriculum."

The new northeast Columbia Ben Lippen lower-school is located at 3513 Hard Scrabble Road on Sandhills Community Church's campus.
