Kershaw County Coroner David West has identified the woman found shot at Camden Walmart, Wednesday.  He said Melissa Watson Hopkins, 54, of the Kershaw area was the woman found. She was employed at Walmart.

Kershaw County 911 received a call at 1:59 p.m. Wednesday that a woman in a car at the Walmart parking lot appeared to be sick.

When EMS arrived they found a woman on the ground beside her car where some people had taken her out and started CPR. It appears she had been shot, according to the release from the coroner’s office.

West said Hopkins’ body has been transported for an autopsy. The case is under investigation by SLED, the Camden Police Department and the Kershaw County Coroner’s Office.
