Richland County Coroner Gary Watts has released the name of one of the individuals who died as a result of being struck by a vehicle on Interstate 77 at mile marker 27, Blythewood.  The incident occurred early Friday morning.

Manuel V. Ito, 63, of Lousia Road, Hephzibah, Ga. died at the scene. An autopsy determined the cause of death to be multiple blunt force injuries to the head and body due to being struck by a motor vehicle.

 

Later, Friday Watts released the name of Tyrone Cornelius Fogle, 40,  of Monticello Road, Columbia, as the second victim. An autopsy determined the cause of death to be multiple blunt force injuries to the head and body due to being struck by a motor vehicle.

The Richland County Coroner’s Office and the SC Highway Patrol are investigating the incident.
