The body of a missing woman was recovered from Lake Wateree Tuesday morning, according to Kershaw County coroner David West.

Krista Lee Philemon, 22, of Monroe, North Carolina, jumped from a pontoon boat on the lake Sunday night. She did not resurface.

SCDNR officers found the body at 6:41 a.m. a.m. Tuesday morning near Jutty Point. an autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday morning, according to West.

The SC Department of Natural Resources were called to Lake Wateree around 8:40 a.m. Sunday night after Philemon jumped off and could not be found. The boat, carrying several people, was drifting on the lake.

SCDNR crews and a dive team searched for the lake since Sunday with assistance from Fairfield County Fire Rescue, the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office, Camden Fire/Kershaw County Rescue, Kershaw County Fire Service and Kershaw County EMS.
