It’s not too late to make your voice count in November’s general election.

Friday was the deadline to register in person to vote, but you have until midnight Sunday, Oct. 4 to register online, by fax or by email. If you’re mailing in your registration, it must be postmarked by Monday, Oct. 5.

Here are other key voting dates to keep in mind:

Monday, Oct. 5 — First day for in-person absentee voting

Saturday, Oct. 24 — Last day to mail request for absentee ballot

Friday, Oct. 30 — Last day to apply in person for absentee ballot

Monday, Nov. 2 — Last day to vote absentee in person

Tuesday, Nov. 3 — Election day: in-person voting 7 a.m.-7 p.m., mailed absentee ballots due by 7 p.m.

Thursday, Nov. 5 — Deadline to return for military and overseas ballots by mail

For more information, Richland County residents can call the county’s Voter Registration & Elections office at 803-576-2240 or visit the office at 2020 Hampton Street in Columbia. Lexington County residents can call their county’s Registration & Elections office at 803-785-8361 or visit the office at 605 West Main Street, Suite C in Lexington. Any South Carolina resident can visit scvotes.gov to check voter registration, request and check the status of an absentee ballot, confirm a polling place, and review the ballot.
