Expect lots of rain Monday and Tuesday, with the possibility of thunderstorms and some river flooding.

The National Weather Service in Columbia is forecasting rain, with about a 100 percent chance most of Monday. Rain is also forecast for Tuesday, but the possibility will decrease to 50 percent by the middle of Tuesday.

Rain totals for the Midlands could be up to 2-to-2.4 inches   Monday and Tuesday, and there could be flash flooding.

By Wednesday, the rain will move out, according to the NWS and there will be partly cloudy skies with highs in the upper 70s.

Rain predictions for the Upstate are higher than the Midlands, and that increased flow drains into the Congaree River.
