Compromised dam results in closed streets in Lexington

The compromised dam at the Church Street Commons neighborhood in Lexington caused the closure of South Church Street, between Roberts Street and Gibson Road, Tuesday.  The road closure was a precaution as the Town of Lexington Utilities Department worked to bring the level of the pond down. Man get 7 years for felony DUI involving death on I-20

Coroner identifies victim of Monday shooting

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the victim of a homicide. It occurred in the 300 block of Sandspur Road in Pelion at approximately 5:40 p.m., Monday. According to Fisher, Mr. Aaron Matthew Peterson, 38, of Pelion suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body and was pronounced dead at the scene.  Two additional individuals were transported to area hospitals with…

Monday storms bring down some trees

The storms that blew through Monday were brief, but there was some damage from them. Lexington County officials said the severe weather, and its winds and rain, brought some trees. The downed tree in the photo from Lexington County, is in the 100 block of Secret Cove Drive. County officials said no injuries were reported from this incident.
