Many local shoppers and thrifters in the Midlands are familiar with Ivy House, a vendor mall in the Northeast Columbia area. More residents will soon get to shop at the store when a second location opens in Lexington.

Owner Ruth Rauch started as a vendor at Ivy House, before acquiring the business in 2015. The store has grown from around 30 vendors to more than 70 vendors since then. Rauch said she has been looking to open up a second location for a few years now, along with the help of her husband Pete.

“We’ve been looking for a place on this side of town, in the Lexington/West Columbia area for about seven years, and we finally found this place,” said Rauch. “This property here is just the right size so that we can have enough vendors to keep the customers happy, but not have too many vendors so that the vendors don’t prosper.”

Customers of Ivy House can expect a mixture of familiar vendors from the 10511 Two Notch Rd. location, along with new vendors from as far away as North Carolina, Aiken and Augusta.

Ivy House’s new Lexington/West Columbia location includes two buildings, adding up to around 15,000 square feet. The buildings have been named The Cottage at Ivy House and The Warehouse at Ivy House and are almost double the size of the Two Notch location, which is 8,500 square feet.

Renovations are underway, which include painting, hanging light fixtures, pulling up carpet, polishing floors, etc. The Lexington location will also have a freshly paved parking lot.

The Lexington/West Columbia Ivy House will most likely open in March, but an official opening date has not been set. Ivy House in Lexington will be located at 4211 Augusta Rd., in the former Sherwoods Furniture Warehouse.

Visit Ivy House on Facebook or Instagram to stay up to date on the opening of the new location.
