James R. Sease Farms (The Patch) in Gilbert has reopened for strawberry lovers to pick their own fresh berries this season.

The Patch closed its "u-pick" section of the farm in 2020 due to the pandemic, but guests were still able to purchase pre-picked strawberries by the basket at the farm.

In an announcement posted to the farm's Facebook page, owners Mike and Deek Keisler, noted that the farm fully reopened Tuesday and will continue following COVID-19 safety guidelines for customers to have a safe experience.

Guests are asked to maintain a safe distance from others while picking strawberries. It was noted that there will be hand washing stations available for customers and employees around the farm.

The Patch reopened its "u-pick" strawberry farm as of Tuesday and will remain open until the crop completes growing for the year.

Pre-picked strawberries can also be purchased on-site and at additional stand located at 861 Highway 378 in Lexington, near the Hendrix Crossing shopping center.

Hours of operation at The Patch are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Updates and time changes will be available via The Patch's phone line at 803-359-FARM (3276), and on the James R. Sease Farms, Inc. Facebook page. The farm is located at 3967 Augusta Hwy.
