Officials from Slim Chickens, a fast-casual franchise, reported they will be opening 30 locations in cities throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. In an announcement made Tuesday, it was mentioned that three to five location are slated to open in the Midlands.

The Slim Chickens brand prides itself on its cooked-to-order food and strong devoted fanbase, also known as “Slimthusiasts.” The restaurant offers 17 house-made dipping sauces, allowing customers to enjoy a different flavor profile with each visit. Menu items include chicken tenders, salads, sandwiches, chicken and waffles, chicken wings and unique side items.

Jonathan Crumpler, Rob Bryan and Josh Frankel are members of Break Bread Ventures, the investment group opening the Slim Chickens locations.

“Break Bread Ventures is the type of franchise partner that we’re looking for, and with their experience, we have no doubt that their locations will be a success,” said Jackie Lobdell, vice president of franchise development at Slim Chickens. “We’re excited to break into new markets and grow the Slim Chickens brand in the coming months.”

Jonathan Crumpler, a member of Break Bread Ventures said they are looking forward to bringing the restaurants to new areas. “We are excited to bring Slim Chickens’ fresh, handmade food to local communities coupled with Slim Chickens’ Southern hospitality feel, this will resonate with members of the communities we are excited to serve," he said.

Construction on the Midlands Slim Chickens locations is slated to begin in 2022. A definite timeframe nor exact locations have been announced yet. Updates will be provided as additional details are released.
