Even during a global pandemic, Nuttall Tire & Auto Repair Center in Columbia has "outgrown" its facility because of the shop's loyal customers.
The auto repair store is moving its operations to a new facility located at 3215 Two Notch Road. This location was formerly the home of Dick Dyer Toyota.
"We’ve outgrown the building and the parking lot," said owner, Stephen Nuttall. "We like to joke that the walls are expanding and contracting here. But it’s good to fight good problems."
Nuttall's current facility at Millwood Avenue has been operating for nearly 22 years. The business first opened in 1984 and has been family owned and operated for three generations.
"Our last day here is Wednesday and we'll be closed Thursday, Friday and through the weekend to move and will open at the new location Monday the 14th," Nuttall said.
Store hours were modified early this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. According to Nuttall, it took much thought and prayer to make the decision to move their hours which are now Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
The new location will have 30 service bays to help efficiently serve customers. "We’re moving to create a more user-friendly service," Nuttall said. "We'll have much easier parking and a lot more workspace to be more efficient and serve our customers better."
