Older adults in the Blythewood area will have a new option for housing by this time next year.

Land clearing has begun for the Arden Place Apartments, behind Zaxby’s off Blythewood Road. The 56,674 sq.-ft. building will include 48 apartments designed for people 55 years and older, according to Garri Steede, design-construction manager for Atlanta-based developer Prestwick Companies.

The three-story building will include 24 one-bedroom, one-bath apartments ranging from 762 to 830 sq.-ft., and 24 two-bedroom, two-bath apartments from 960 to 980 sq.-ft. Amenities will include an elevator, community room, business center, fitness center and community laundry. Each unit will also have its own washer and dryer connections.

Steede said the completion date for the project is Feb. 1, 2022. NHE, based in Greenville, S.C., will manage the building and begin leasing approximately 90 to 120 days before completion. NHE also manages The Pointe at Blythewood apartments, another project built by Prestwick.

lived in River Ridge Apartments in Asheville which is managed by NHE and owned by Graycliff. I turned them into city over 3 homeless camps on their property and piles of garbage left by them they and got cited. They refused to renew my lease even though I have been living here 5 years and never been late on rent. Went to court, but got dismissed. Still refused to give long term lease, plus $400 mo. extra charges. 68, 2x breast cancer, and they did not care if I got exposed to Covid by moving. These people are crooks. Just look at any of their apartment reviews.
