There's a new physical therapy office in the Ballentine/Irmo area personalizing care options to help patients improve and restore their health.

According to patient care coordinator Alli Baskins, Phoenix Physical therapy was first created by five physical therapists who wanted to focus their attention on making sure all their patients see improvement.

"They were tired of the way big corporations were running therapy. They don't want the kick-kick, swing-swing type therapy where some people get better, some people may not," she said. "They wanted personal therapy one-on-one, where their patients get the best care possible."

Baskins said the Phoenix owners decide which therapists run their own clinics. The Irmo location is directed by Brittany Powers Berlinrut, who is a Ballentine resident and wanted to open a location within her local community.

Phoenix Physical Therapy can help customers with a variety of needs ranging from chronic pain, to post-stroke and headaches. Baskins said Powers Berlinrut is well-versed in a variety of therapies.

"Some clinics will have specialties where they can only treat certain things. Brittany can actually treat most everything - little kids to elderly. Any issues," she said.

The clinic does not require a physician referral. Baskins said within their first two months of being opened, they've already had many success stories and positive reviews.

Phoenix is located at 3561 Dreher Shoals Rd., Irmo. Hours of operation are 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Fridays, and closed Saturdays and Sundays.

Additional information can be found on the business Facebook page and website.
