Governor Henry McMaster thanked 12 different South Carolina grocers at a press conference Monday for implementing senior shopping hours, since his request last week. Many grocers in the Midlands are offering specific times where senior citizens, pregnant women, shoppers with disabilities, and those with compromised immune systems can all shop for groceries while feeling more safe amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

List of local stores' senior shopping hours:

BI-LO: Mondays through Fridays from 8 to 9 a.m. Pharmacy opening at 8 a.m.

Publix: Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 7 to 8 a.m. Pharmacy will open at 7 a.m. those days.

Target: First shopping hour of each Wednesday - most local Targets open at 8 a.m. Special shopping hour specified for "vulnerable guests" 60 and up, pregnant women, those with disabilities, those with compromised immune systems. 

Fresh Market: Mondays through Fridays from 8 to 9 a.m. Specified for those 65 and up.

Walmart: Tuesdays from 6 to 7 a.m. (one hour before normal store opening time). Specified for those 60 and up. Pharmacies and vision centers will also open during that time.

Lowes Foods: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 to 8 a.m.

Whole Foods: Daily from 7 to 8 a.m.

Dollar General: Daily from 8 to 9 a.m. Specified for those 60 and up.

Aldi: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 to 9 a.m. Specified for senior citizens, pregnant women and customers with compromised immune systems. 

Costco: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 to 9 a.m. Specified for those 60 and up. 

Rosewood Market: Daily from 8 to 9 a.m. Specified for seniors and individuals who are immunocompromised.
