Legacy Martial Arts will open its third Midlands location at the Village at Sandhill in January.

The martial arts studio will offer classes, after-school programs and kids’ camps in a 4,000-square-foot location at 494-4 Town Center Place.

Owner Daniel Kim has 10 years in the martial arts business under his (black) belt. He operates two other Legacy Martial Arts locations at 7579 St. Andrews Road in Irmo and 2627 Millwood Avenue in Columbia.

“Our main focus is on the youth,” Kim said. “We work closely with the local schools and community near our other locations and thought the northeast area could use a really good martial arts program. We want to make a positive impact on the young people in our community.”

Kim said the studio will be open Monday through Saturday, primarily in the late afternoon and evening to accommodate children’s and teens’ schedules, but it will offer adult classes, too. Legacy Martial Arts also offers online classes for those who can’t or prefer not to attend in person.
