Fashion jewelry and lifestyle brand Kendra Scott will be coming to Columbia's Forest Acres next month.

There are more than 100 Kendra Scott stores across the nation, with the closest to the Midlands in Charleston and Charlotte. The company offers jewelry collections with custom-created stone shapes, genuine materials and innovative design details. The Columbia store will also feature the brand's Kendra Scott Color Bar, providing shoppers with an interactive experience to create customized jewelry that can be made within minutes.

Regional marketing manager Jennifer Arpin said company officials had been thinking of adding a new store in the Midlands for quite some time. "We're so excited to be coming to Columbia," she said. "We've had our eye on the market for awhile." The 883 sq.-ft. store will be located in Trenholm Plaza, at 4840 Forest Dr. Suite 6-A, in the former Francesca's space.

Kendra Scott is set to open in May, and will offer a variety of weekend specials as part of the opening celebration. April 30 will be a "VIP night," followed by the official opening day Saturday, May 1. According to Arpin, guests who shop over the weekend will be able to enjoy pre-wrapped sips and sweets, and receive a pair of earrings with purchase, while supplies last. The Belgian Waffle Truck will be on-site along with a champagne cart offering free champagne for customers.

Arpin said the company is founded on family, fashion and philanthropy. The store will host two local nonprofits opening weekend: the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society May 1 and Tri Delta Sorority May 2. Twenty percent of the purchases made both days from noon to 3 p.m. will be donated back to the organizations' programming.

The ability to continue expanding Kendra Scott is an exciting milestone, according to Arpin. "We're thrilled. For us to continue to open stores, and during a pandemic, is an incredible testament to our brand. We're excited to continue to give back to our local communities," she said.

The company is planning to host "Kendra Give Back" events in the future at the new store. Any local nonprofit that would like to book a fundraiser can contact Arpin at
