Officials from Harbor Freight Tools, a discount tool and equipment retailer, announced there will be a new location coming to Columbia. The store will be located at 7509 Garners Ferry Rd.and is expected to open in the summer. According to company officials, construction has already begun.

The new Harbor Freight is expected to bring between 25 and 30 jobs to the community, including sales and logistic supervisors, senior associates, sales associates, and seasonal opportunities.

Harbor Freight Tools offers a competitive starting rate along with a benefits package that includes health coverage, and Thanksgiving and Christmas off.

There are more than 23,000 employees and 1,100 Harbor Freight locations nationwide. Company officials said Forbes Magazine recently recognized Harbor Freight as the country's No. 1 employer for veterans and one of the top 20 large employers in retail.

Senior Vice President of Real Estate and Construction for Harbor Freight, Trey Feiler, explained why the company chose to build a new store in the Midlands. "In addition to finding a great location, we were attracted to the availability of great associates in the Columbia area, and we look forward to having them join the Harbor Freight team," he said.

Interested applicants can apply at harborfreightjobs.com/retail and search "Columbia, SC." This will be the third Harbor Freight in Columbia, with the other two locations on Saint Andrews and Two Notch roads.
